June 27th and 28th, 2010

June 27th - Today we went to Prince Edward Island (PEI).  My mom and stepdad took all 5 of the girls in their van so my dad, stepmom, brother and sister-in-law and I went in the other car.  PEI is home to the Anne of Green Gables village.  Anne of Green Gables was the first live play I ever saw and Ashley has read several of the books in the box set so we thought it was something worth checking out.  While we were there, we just happen to run in to Anne!

C was not so sure she wanted to go anywhere near this Anne girl but my brother convinced her it would be ok and he would stay with her.

My Daddy!

We went down to the ocean because we thought it would be really cool for my girls to be able to say they had stepped in both the Pacific and the Atlantic Oceans.  Convincing all 5 girls to stand in the ice cold water wasn't happening so this was the best I could do.

Isn't it beautiful!?

June 28th - Our last day here.  We had planned a visit to Magnetic Hill and the Butterfly park today but woke up to rain.  My dad ended up spending the entire day in the hospital (he needed some antibiotics, but was ok fortunately!) so it was just my brother's family, me and my kids and my mom and stepdad.  We drove out to Magnetic Hill in the drizzle.  Not a big deal since you stay in your car.  Basically, you drive to the bottom of a hill, put your car in neutral and your car gets pulled back up the hill to the top, as though a big magnet is pulling it.  Kind of a neat illusion.  When we left Magnetic Hill, we went across the road to the Butterfly park.  It is an indoor adventure but it was closed due to rain.  Ummm?  Ok.  The kids, especially Halle, were quite disappointed.  We decided to head back to the hotel for one last day of swimming.

Before we went to the pool, Mom, my girls and I ran across the road to the French book store.  My girls would like to learn to speak French so we wanted to see if we could find one of Halle's favorite English books in French.  They had to order it in for us so we were somewhat successful.  Anyway, I thought this crossing was kind of cool so I took a couple of pictures.

I really wanted to get a good picture of the 5 girls together before we left.  Let me tell you, it is hard!  It is almost impossible to convince them all to stay still and then to all look in the same general direction at the same time without having goofy looks on their faces?  Forget it!  Just not going to happen.  Anyway, this was the best of the bunch.
